We use automations A LOT for sending mails, giving access etc. and we are missing a few options that would make a lot of tasks less complex and minimise errors and work time for us.
1) Ability to add an expiry date and time on any step (for instance an email step)
The option to skip if above step is exceeded is not quite sufficient, cause then you HAVE to have a wait date step above.
2) And if its was also possible to add a start date and time (optional) that would be awesome.
We often need to have a step placed towards the top, but have to place lower because it need the wait date step over it, and then manually go in and run participants after that haven't reached the step and it makes the automation unnecessary complex.

Example of where this is needed:
We are running a webinar tonight
We are sending out an email this morning through an automation
Step 1: Wait until Oct 5, 2021 08:00am
Step 2: Send email
The webinar starts at 7 pm.
We would like for everyone subscribing to the list between 8 am and 7 pm to get this email.
But we do not want to send the email to contacts that subscribe after 7 pm to receive the email.
The options in the automation are either:
Add checkmark 'Skip step if last wait was exceeded' - Then no one that subscribes after 8 am will receive the email
or
Have a wait step for 7 pm to make sure that everyone that subscribed before 7 pm will receive the email... But then they all have to wait until 7 pm (that is not a good thing - we want them to receive the email when they join the list)
or
Manually remember to go add a checkmark to the 'Skip step if last wait was exceeded-box' at 7 pm - with a huge chance of us forgetting to do that because we are starting the webinar at that time.
Having an 'Expire-condition' on steps in automations would solve so much for us.
Like this:
Add a date and time field to the automation step.
When a date and time is selected in that field the step will remain active until then.
When it is past that date and time the automation step should automatically be skipped for all contacts.
Fingers crossed that you will implement this - it will save so much work for us 🤞🧡
Thanks
