Hello,
At the moment of purchase, Simplero adds a timestamp that cannot be changed in the system.
This created a few issues for us, especially when we had purchases made outside of Simplero, and that we decided to add manually - so that we have an overview of our finances in Simplero.
Some of the issues :
  • If we've manually added the purchase in December, but it actually occurred in March, we can update the receipts, so the payment is shown to be in March, but the purchase is still shown to be in December.
  • That causes a bigger issue when like now, we're at the end of the year, and in January 2025 - we'll be adding manually purchases that occurred in 2024, and these will appear as having occurred in 2025.
More importantly - for our membership, we've moved people from another platform. The best way to do so was to ask them to make the purchase again in Simplero - we made a trial period and adjusted the following date of payment so they keep the same payment date as before. However, Simplero bases the membership on the purchase date - and because we cannot change these, our clients will be billed at times that are different from their initial commitment.
As an example, someone might pay their subscription on the 1st of the month - and on the 15th, we've asked them to do a small purchase in Simplero to activate their subscription, thinking we could change the date of their reoccurring payment, but we can't, because we can't change the purchase date.
The most important thing is for our accounting.
Because we have purchases that might happen in person or though bank transfer, not being able to change the purchase date makes it so that Simplero doesn't reflect our accounting accurately.
My suggestion would be that the timestamp could be a 'date added to Simplero' timestamp, which makes more sense, and the date of purchase as a point of data that could be updated.
If this could work retroactively, in a way where we could update purchases that were made in the past year for example, that would be amazing.
Thank you.
