Make order forms more flexible for clean interface
David B. Alexander
I was hoping to replace the payment forms in my website with Simplero order forms. However, there are some options missing. A test example is https://insightandenergy.simplero.com/cart/237265-Tai-Chi-Chuan-Practice-in-LI; compare that with the current forms at https://www.internaltaichiny.com/payment and https://www.internaltaichiny.com/start-your-tai-chi-chuan-practice-li.
To make order forms allow more uses, such as described above, one added capability would be the ability to create a flexible field for the user to input any amount. Currently that is only possible for donations (by checking the order form setup option that the payment is a donation), and they are labeld as donations in the order form that the end user sees.
My actual process is to quote a price to a client and then they can input that amount and make the payment. Of course, it is not a donation. I can see many kinds of organizations that would benefit from an order form where the end user can specify the amount of payment, based on an agreement with their provider or vendor.
The other limitation with the custom input is that it starts out as $0.00 and is marked as "Free". It can also start as any dollar amount, but no such starting choice would be appropriate. It should instead be a blank value, and the screen should not say that there is no charge.
The final request that would help make a more user-friendly order form in certain cases, is to have the ability to hide the entire right side of the order form and have the left side expand horizontally when that is done. The left side would fill the appropriate space, staying as-is on mobile but expanding on a wide computer screen to fill the horizontal dimension. The right side adds nothing to the process for many transactions, and can be confusing or distracting and appears non-professional as a result. See the attached screenshot.
The benefits for me of using the order form would be immediate adding of a new Contact; access to geolocation information; and an ability to attach triggers to do other actions such as subscribe the purchaser to a list if they check a checkbox. However, I cannot use the order form as currently implemented, and would love to see these changes to enable multiple added uses for the Simplero order form.
