Reminder to complete course
Ali Ryder
I do lots of training on my site, and of course, many students start a course but do not finish.
I would like to be able to send out reminders, like "hey, it's been a week since you made progress in this course, why not come back and continue?"
Technically, this is doable in Simplero. I need to have a custom contact field, and then any time a contact completes a lesson, i set the value to now. I can create an automation and put my students in it so that if the custom field date is more than a week ago, or two weeks ago, I can email them a reminder.
And, if I require the course to be completed in order, I can add a trigger on course completion to stop the automation.
But this is so cumbersome! I have lots of different courses, and it requires a trigger to be added for every single lesson, and it doesn't work well if someone is in more than one course at the same time.
Can we have an email template that says your course [course name] is [X%] complete, [click here to continue now] that we can program to send out automatically if no activity in X days?

There are a couple different ways I can see this being implemented:
- The addition of a couple different triggers that we can use for automations. For example, create one that's something like "for the object type [course] > which course? > [course A] > last activity date" or conditions, like "only if contact... has not completed course... [course A]" - this would hand the keys over to the website admin to set everything up to the way they would prefer it to be.
- Built in behaviour for a given course, like how products allow you to send Auto-Responses at intervals after purchase.
- A Simplero Done-For-You campaign

Same here, I have two core courses I want everyone to do, and this would be a great set-up to nudge people into and through them.

i would love this possibility!
