Where & How to Enter Promo Code really needs fixing ASAP
Rava Burke
Hey there folks: don't know if anyone else is losing sales
but I am
.... I just went into Stripe and I could see how many purchases were attemtped, then abandoned. All because I'm having an amazing sale right now
using a promo code
and no one can figure out how to enter it on the order form!!!So today I resorted to adding
Literal Instructions
on where to find that tiny font sentence and what to do to be able to enter the code. (see attached screenshot if you care to replicate the same thing on your order forms)Does anyone else think this is crazy?
Truly one of our number one priority is to make it easy for customers to buy from us. Well this is not easy for them!
If you agree PLEASE UPVOTE THIS , thanks.

The abandoned purchases in stripe is a red herring. It literally means someone loaded the order form. Nothing else. We have to tell stripe each time the order form loads or anything about the amount to be charged changes. It's normal to see WAY more hits to your order form than ever intended to purchase anything. Considering them "abandoned purchases" is not correct.
We asked in the community about where to put the promo code, and this was the consensus. Before it was in the sidebar, and people had problems with that.
Seems logical to me that it's near the price, but I hear that people miss it, so we'll have to revisit.
If it's too prominent, some people will back out because they feel cheated that they DON'T have a promo code.
If it's too subtle, the people who DO have a promo code can't find it.
For the record, people don't need to "hover over" the promo code link. They can just click it. It's a link.

Calvin Correli Thank you for your perspectives, Calvin! I hadn't considered if it's too prominent, some people will back out because they feel cheated. That's a really important consideration

This has been frustrating for me as well. I Always end up using a lot of time answering emails about how to use the code.
And exactly as you Rava, i have to put instructions in every mail, about how to use the code.
Sometimes i even used image explanation to make it clear. Its not doing anything good for,the sale.
Often i end up making a timebound offer, because I do not trust the promo code solution to work, but thats often the second best solution.

I have seen many products that implement a cart recovery system. I would love to see that in Simplero.

I totally agree!!! I also end up with a graveyard of abandoned purchases because of this.
